"The Help"

This book fits the criteria for my "favorite books" list.  I started reading and couldn't put it down until I had finished.  Needless to say, I didn't get much else accomplished over the couple of days I sat reading this book.

It takes place in Jackson, Mississippi in the 1960's and is ultimately a compilation of the stories of black maids working for white upper-class women.  It's a novel, but it feels like non-fiction.  Much more involved than this one sentence review I'm giving it, and well worth reading.

  1. I wanted to get it too. In fact I checked the public library, but they didn't have it. Guess I'll have to buy it.
